The stability of a country on a political, economic and social level is consolidated by democracy. Democracy has a significant influence on the daily lives of citizens, in their material conditions of existence. Democracy is not just an ethical political system that we must aspire to have a civilized society that can be considered as such.
I, Ismael Gerli, I believe that democracy is the best way for citizens to elect governments whose role is to address the problems of society, for which they will have to make decisions, often unpopular and never exempt from costs , both political and social, therefore one could mention some basic principles that must be fulfilled to consolidate a true democracy:
- Accepting election results
- Responsibility: In a democracy, appointed or elected officials must be held accountable to the people. They are responsible for their actions. Officials must make decisions and fulfill their obligations according to the will and desires of the people to whom they represent, not of themselves or of their friends.
